On the 7th of March 2024, about 50 UniSysCat researchers met to discuss the details of the research program for the coming funding period of the Excellence Strategy of the German federal and state governments. The meeting started with a quick-fire round of 42 short presentations of different planned projects. Afterwards, there was a lot of time for in depth discussion between the different groups. These conversations enable possible cooperations and synergies between the different groups. In an interdisciplinary cluster like UniSysCat this kind of teamwork is vital.
The Clusters of Excellence funding line as part of the Excellence Strategy aims to promote internationally competitive research fields at universities or in university consortia in the form of projects, also across scientific disciplines (source). UniSysCat has been funded in the current funding period from 2019 – 2025, and is now applying for the next funding period from 2026 – 2032.
