We are pleased to announce our upcoming joint event

"How to combine career and family in experimental science",

hosted by UniSysCat and greenCHEM at TU Berlin.

The event will include a keynote speech from Prof. Dr. Sina Bartfeld on the importance of a family-friendly environment in science, a panel discussion with female scientists who have successfully reconciled family and their experimental research. Plus, learn about valuable funding opportunities, support opportunities and discover best practices for navigating both family and lab life.

Date: 9th Dec. 2024
Time: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Location: EINS Eventhalle at TU Berlin (Ernst-Reuter-Platz 1, Berlin-Charlottenburg)

For organizational reasonsplease register by December 5, 2024 at the latest.

The goal of our event is to raise awareness and promote acceptance of pregnancy, maternity leave/parental leave, as well as an active parental role within the scientific environment, especially for activities involving experimental lab work in chemistry and related fields. We aim to empower young female scientists to understand that the right time to start a family is when it feels right for them personally, rather than waiting for a specific career milestone to be completed. Additionally, we will provide information on relevant support, funding opportunities and share best practice examples. On the panel, we would like to discuss your personal experiences with you and other female scientists or PhD candidates.

The event is open for students, PhD candidates, PostDocs, entrepreneurs, and leading persons such as group leaders.

If you need child care for this event, please let us know via email (claudia.nasrallah(at)tu-berlin.de) by November 29, 2024 at latest.
