Last week members of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) convened to discuss the current research and future directions of UniSysCat and visited the graduate school EC2/BIG NSE. The SAB consists of distinguished scientists with expertise in the multiple fields of catalysis and related areas. Their role is to evaluate the status, structure, and focus of the Cluster and to give scientific and strategic advice.
For the first time the SAB meeting was held in person at the TU Berlin. The meeting commenced on Thursday with about 100 members of UniSysCat and EC2/BIG NSE gathering for a day filled with 15-minute talks and a poster session showcasing the current successes and future directions in our research. Besides recent highlight papers and the new joint projects, other structural measures, such as technology transfer, fostered by the BasCat and the Chemical Invention Factory / GreenCHEM were presented.
On Friday, EC2/BIG NSE welcomed the SAB in a more private setting, in which the concept of the graduate school and exciting doctoral projects were presented, followed by a vibrant exchange between the SAB members and the PhD students. The meeting ended with an internal discussion of the SAB.
We would like to extend our special thanks to the attending SAB members, as well as everyone from UniSysCat and EC2/BIG NSE who participated.
