We are very pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Serena DeBeer from the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion in Mülheim an der Ruhr as a new member of our Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). She succeeds Prof. Dr. Cynthia Friend, who has left the SAB.

The chemist Serena DeBeer is currently Director at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion in Mülheim an der Ruhr, where she heads the Department of Inorganic Spectroscopy. Her expertise lies in the development of X-ray spectroscopic methods to elucidate the electronic structure of biological and chemical catalysts. Her group focuses on fundamental questions in energy research, for example, on reversible energy storage in chemical bonds using earth abundant transition metals. Therefore, they study homogeneous, heterogeneous and biological catalysts, with a primary focus on enzymatic catalysis.

UniSysCat is pleased with Serena's involvement in the SAB. We look forward to her scientific advice and the future collaboration.
