Dr. Nadia Elghobashi-Meinhardt studied chemistry at Stanford University. She completed her doctorate in theoretical chemistry at the Freie Universität Berlin in 2005. Since then, she has been conducting research in theoretical biophysics. In UniSysCat, she has been working as a postdoc researcher in the UniSysCat group of Prof. Maria Andrea Mroginski "Modeling of Biomolecular Systems". Now, she has been appointed Assistant Professor at University College Dublin (UCD). UniSysCat warmly congratulates Nadia on this great career move and wishes her the best of luck in her future research!
Nadia will join UCD’s Department of Chemistry in January 2023 as Assistant Professor and Ad Astra Fellow. At UCD, she will establish a research group in computational biophysics/chemistry and be responsible for teaching physical chemistry.
The focus of her research will remain the study of structure-function relationships in complex biological systems using a range of computational methodologies. Nadia aims to continue collaborating with groups in UniSysCat, using hybrid quantum/classical theory to study catalysis in metalloenzymes.
