End Time:

UniSysCat group leader Beatriz Roldán Cuenya is the director of the Department of Interface Science at the Fritz-Haber-Institute (FHI) of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. Using in situ / operando surface-sensitive characterization techniques, her group wants to gain a fundamental understanding of catalysts “at work”. Within UniSysCat, the fundamental research of her group is of great importance to understand and further develop catalysis networks.

The FHI lately announced, that Beatriz Roldán Cuenya will be awarded the prestigious Faraday Medal from the Royal Society of Chemistry of UK for 2022. The medal will be presented to her in September this year at "Electrochem2022" in Edinburgh.

The Faraday Medal is awarded annually by the Electrochemistry Group of the RSC to an electrochemist working outside the UK and Ireland in recognition of outstanding original contributions and innovation in any field of electrochemistry. The award is designed to honour scientists in the middle of their independent scientific careers.

This year’s “Electrochem conference” will take place at the University of Edinburgh from 4 to 6 September. The awardee will also hold a 50-minute plenary lecture at this occasion.
