UniSysCat is pleased to support the first ever LGBTQ STEM Tisch

LGBTQ STEM Berlin and the Society of Spanish Researchers in Germany (CERFA) are hosting the first Bundesciencia LGBTQ STEM Tisch. The STEM Tisch is a  workshop covering "Diverse scientists for diverse research". UniSysCat and TU Berlin are pleased to support the event with free room use. The event will take place on Thursday, September 30 at 7 pm, and will be live-streamed via Zoom. To be part of the event, a registration is required via email to: hello@lgbtqstemberlin.de

The program of the event is as follows:

Tuğçe Aral (Research Associate at Uni Potsdam, Diversity in Education and Development) will kick off with a talk on “How social contexts (family, school) shape youth’s intergroup relations and identity”.

Juan Castillo Gómez (CMC Manager at PentixaPharm GmbH) will talk about “Switching from academia to a pharma start-up: Lessons learned along the way”.

Simón Perera (LGBTQ Association Representative) will give the last talk on “PRISMA, building an LGBTIQA+ community in Spain (and Europe)”.

The STEM Tisch is supported by Fundación Ramón Areces, Spanish Embassy Berlin (Science & Cultural Department), Instituto Cervantes Berlin, COSMO radio (RBB), Berlin Amateurs, TU Berlin and UniSysCat.

LGBTQ STEM Berlin is a group of scientists promoting the visibility of LGBTQ+ individuals in STEM research. The group was founded in 2019. As LGBTQ STEM Berlin states "People of all ages, backgrounds, origins, race, color, sexual orientation and gender identity are welcome to join us: let us be out and proud together!"

CERFA, the Society of Spanish Researchers in Germany, has been founded in 2013 to bring together Spanish researchers residing in Germany through an independent, non-profit association for scientific purposes. Currently, CERFA counts more than 600 subscribers.
