Congratulations to UniSysCat member Prof. Dr. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya on receiving the prestigious 2021 AVS Fellow of the Society Award! With the membership level designated "Fellow of the Society", the American Vacuum Society (AVS) annually awards scientists in the community who have made sustained and outstanding technical contributions in areas of interest to AVS. Within AVS, Beatriz Roldán Cuenya is serving as associate editor of the Journal of Vacuum Science and Technology B and has taught an AVS-sponsored short course on Nanophysics.

Prof. Roldán Cuenya receives the AVS Fellow Award for her “exceptional contributions to the mechanistic understanding of thermal and electrocatalytic reactions based on well-defined nanostructured materials combined with advanced in situ and operando microscopic and spectroscopic characterization”.

The AVS Awards Ceremony will be held during the AVS 67th International Symposium & Exhibition, in Charlotte, North Carolina (USA) on October 27, 2021. To introduce the research of Prof. Roldán Cuenya has been interviewed by Paul Holloway from the AVS.

The AVS is an interdisciplinary, professional society supporting networking among academic, industrial, government and consulting professionals involved in a variety of disciplines. Founded in 1953, AVS nowadays  is comprised of approximately 4,500 members worldwide.
