"Green chemistry - catalysis processes can be sustainable"

Prof. Matthias Drieß is a chemist with a passion. He talks enthusiastically about green chemistry, about the idea that one day we will produce our own hydrogen and methanol at home to fuel our cars and meet our "personal" energy needs at home. Green chemistry is about the environmentally friendly production of chemicals, minimizing "waste" in chemical processes and taking nature as a model.

Matthias Drieß is Professor of Organometallic Chemistry and Inorganic Materials at the Technical University of Berlin. He is particularly committed to the topic of "green chemistry". Since 2019, Matthias Drieß has been co-spokesperson of the Cluster of Excellence UniSysCat.
