Breaking Linear - Scaling Relationships in Catalysis and Electrocatalysis
Prof. Núria López

Electro-catalytic activity is often observed to follow a volcano shape depending on a descriptor of the catalytic material. Such behavior arises from the dependence between the binding energies of different species along the electro-catalytic cycles. In the talk, I will revise the origin of these linear scaling relationships and how the complexity of the catalyst can be fine-tuned to circumvent these limitations.
